On January 27, 2007, around 8,000 plungers and over 7,000 spectators descended on Sandy Point State Park for the 11th Annual Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Maryland. Ravens Roost #4 was represented by plungers Beth Adams, Chris Berman, Bob Caldwell, Glen Cox, Mike Hahn, Mitch Hooper, Frank Howard, Leslie Pacen, Shannon Robinson, Jacque Strohmer, Karen Suter, Lee Todd, Andrew Turner, Frosty Volmer, and Heather Young. Roost #4 raised over $8,900 - the entire Council of Ravens Roosts raised around $100,000! Woo hoo!!! In total, all participants raised in excess of $2,000,000 buckaroos - nearly double what was raised last year!!!
As the plungers were just exiting the water, Roost #4 member, Tom McCabe, and his classic rock band, Against the Grain, were just getting cranked-up on stage at the Festival Tent!
Thanks to all the Roost #4 members & friends that took the plunge on January 27th! Also, thanks to all Roost #4 members and friends that helped raise money for Special Olympics Maryland in support of our plungers!
