Personal Thoughts:
Hmm... I guess Marty didn't want the job. Now we
are in trouble. Short of Rex Ryan, I am not sure I like any of the candidates,
and Rex won't get this job. The team wants someone who will come in and make the
hard decisions to start things off with regards to personnel, and Rex is too
close to the situation to make those calls. The Dallas Offensive coordinator
seems to be the lead candidate, but we should be weary of pulling in another
offensive genius, especially one whose team collapsed offensively in its final
3 games. If Garrett doesn't bite, look for John Harbaugh to step up, but I am
not optimistic that he will have a favorable record when the dust clears. I am
just not seeing the results in his previous coaching assignments. As a final
note, don't rule out Marty yet. He says he will consider the right opportunity
and his agent says he is interested, however, Marty says he is not. Mixed
signals for an interim solution.
With Marty seemingly not high in the picture, expect Garrett to come around and take the job. He is making the rounds looking for the best opportunity, and I think he will end up here, in sickness or in health.
What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Please let me know! Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
