News and Personal Thoughts:

Ravens: News is light right now as everyone speculates on the draft. Stover is a free agent on Friday, but will only play for "a contender," and yes, the Raven's made that list, although I am doubt we will go that route.

Orioles: Everyone looks good right now... they haven't started playing any games yet.

Crystal Palace Baltimore F.C. (Home games at UMBC): CPBFC has posted their 7 pre-season games. Included in the list is a charity fundraiser for Haiti against Loyola University Maryland (3/10) at Loyola's new Ridley Stadium Athletic Complex on Cold Spring Lane. Admission is free, donations expected. Other pre-season games include University of Maryland, Richmond Kickers, West Virginia University, Harrisburg City Islanders, DC United, and Real Maryland.

Alouettes: The Als traded non-import defensive end Stan van Sichem to Winnipeg for import defensive end Gavin Walls.

Blast: The Blast (8-7) extended their winning streak to 3 games, defeating Philadelphia (5-8) in Philadelphia by a 23-14 score. Baltimore now sits 1½ games behind Milwaukee (10-6), and ½ game behind Monterrey (9-7). With the top 3 going to the playoffs, the Blast have opened up a 2 game lead on the final spot.

This weekend, the Blast conclude their Home-and-Home series against Philadelphia on Friday night, before hosting Monterrey on Saturday night. The Regular season ends on March 21.

Mariners (See website for more details): The Mariners open the season on the road this Saturday, traveling to Harrisburg to take on the Stampede.

Capitals (See website for more details): Pittsburgh always finds a way to kill us. This time, it was a Penguin player scoring the winning goal for Team Canada. Play resume March 3, as the Caps (41-13-8) start on the road in Buffalo (33-18-4), and then return home to host Tampa Bay (26-24-11), New York Rangers (28-27-7), and Dallas (28-21-12). The Caps have a 13 point lead for top seed in the Atlantic conference, and a 1 point lead over San Jose for best record in the NHL. Hopefully the break doesn't destroy their momentum.

Wizards (See website for more details): This past week, the Wizards (21-36) lost a home game against the Knicks (20-39), before saving face with a victory over the lowly Nets (6-53). This week they play Milwaukee (30-29) twice, travel to Boston (36-21), and return home to play Houston (30-29). There are now 4 teams within the conference with worse records. New Jersey, the Knicks, the Pacers (20-39), and now the Pistons (21-38). Minnesota (14-47), Golden State (17-41), and Sacramento (20-39) still also have worse records.

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, nevermind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won't know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
