News and Personal Thoughts:
Ravens: Dwan Edwards signs with the Bills, and Frank Walker (no big loss there) is looking hard... The Jets have volunteered to host a Thanksgiving night game, and the Ravens have a 1 in 7 chance of scoring that prime time game... NFL owners will vote on a proposal that would give both teams at least one shot at the ball in PLAYOFF overtime games. The trend since 1994 has been that 60% of those winning the coin toss have won the game (previously it was 50%), and they want to curb that trend... Browns are rewriting their roster, especially at the QB position where they have ousted Quinn and Anderson (now with the Cards), in favor of Seneca Wallace and Jake Delhomme... Brainlessburger is still thinking with the wrong brain off the field.

Orioles: Roberts injury is his nagging back, and may spell the end of his career in the very near future. Right now, he is able to keep it in check enough to play and contribute, but his time starting at second base may be at risk. Pitching staff is up and down. Expect another roller coaster on the mound.

Crystal Palace Baltimore F.C. (Home games at UMBC): Nine Crystal Palace Baltimore players from last season’s roster will be back for the upcoming 2010 season. Thus far, the preseason has been experimental. They have posted a 2-1 win over the University of Maryland, lost 4-3 to Loyola University Maryland, and tied the Richmond Kickers. Still up on the preseason are games against West Virginia University, the Harrisburg City Islands, DC United, and Real Maryland. The season opens at home against FC Tampa Bay Rowdies on April 16 at home.

Alouettes: Nothing to Report.

Blast: Having clinched a playoff spot, the Blast (11-8) ended their 6 game winning streak with a home loss to the Philadelphia Kixx (7-11), 8-6 on Saturday. With 1 game remaining (at Philadelphia on Sunday), the Blast have clinched 2nd place and play Monterrey (9-10) in a home-and-home semifinal series on March 26 and 29. Milwaukee (13-6) will host the winner for the championship on April 4.

Mariners (See website for more details): The Mariners (2-0) continued their winning ways, posting a 51 point first half, en route to a 68-23 win over the New Jersey Revolution. Fayetteville (0-0) comes to Baltimore on Sunday.

Capitals (See website for more details): The Caps (47-14-9) have clinched their division and now hold a 7 point lead over San Jose in the standings for the best record in the NHL. The evil Penguins are 2nd best in the Eastern Conference with 87 points.

Wizards (See website for more details): The Wizards (21-45) are now on a 9-game losing streak, and it won't get any better as they wrap up their west coast road trip in Portland (41-28) and with the Lakers (50-18), before return home for 1 of only 2 games over the next 6 at home. With most of these opponents in contention for playoff spots, things are going to get worse before they get better... wait! Who said they are going to get better? This slump has dropped them in to 2nd worst in the conference next to the Nets (7-60); and only Minnesota (14-54) and Golden State (18-48) sport worse records.

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, nevermind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won't know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
