News and Personal Thoughts:
Ravens: Rumor is that Frank Walker could be gone (that's good news, folks)... Former Raven Derek Anderson and Street Thug Joey Porter have both signed with the Cardinals... Jane, I mean Roger Goodall is meeting with Brainlessburger regarding his poor life choices... General consensus is that the Boldin trade was a good move, and possibly the best off-season deal in the league...Ravens signed ex-Seattle DE Cory Redding to a 2 year deal. He has 18 sacks in 7 seasons, but that was with Seattle and Detroit... Gaither still rumored to be trade bait, but I think the asking price is too high for anyone to bite... New OT rule was approved by the owners, and now they are looking at the regular season OT rules... Advertised Draft needs are for CB, and possibly a new, younger DE. I still think we need to do something about the TE position... Flacco working out with a baseball pitching coach to further develop his accuracy.

Orioles: Roster size is leveling down. No surprises, as Millwood is shaping up as the opening day starter. Guthrie seems to be getting more in to a groove as well. Roberts should start seeing some spring training action real soon.

Crystal Palace Baltimore F.C. (Home games at UMBC): Palace played to a 1-1 draw against the University of West Virginia. Still up on the preseason are games against the Harrisburgh City Islands, DC United, and Real Maryland. The season opens at home against FC Tampa Bay Rowdies on April 16 at home.

Alouettes: The Argos and Roughriders have been in the headlines daily, but not the Als.

Blast: Having clinched a playoff spot, the Blast (11-9) didn't try very hard in their regular season road finale 19-12 loss to the Philadelphia Kixx (8-12). Having clinched 2nd place, the will travel to Monterrey (10-10) in a home-and-home semifinal series on Friday night, before returning home to host the conclusion on Monday night, including a tie-breaker golden-goal game, if necessary. Milwaukee (14-6) will host the winner for the championship on April 4.

Mariners (See website for more details): The Mariners (3-0) posted the leagues first every shut-out, drubbing out Fayetteville 59-0 on Sunday. The Richmond Raiders (1-1) will come to town on Sunday to wrap up the 3 game home stand.

Capitals (See website for more details): The Caps (48-14-10) split their last 2 games, heading in to tonight showdown with the currently 2nd seeded penguins (42-25-6). Also up this week are games against Carolina (30-34-9), Calgary (37-27-9) and Ottawa (39-30-5). The Caps have clinched their division and now hold a 7 point lead over Chicago in the standings for the best record in the NHL. The evil Penguins and hell-sent devils are tied for 2nd best in the Eastern Conference with 90 points.

Wizards (See website for more details): The Wizards (21-48) are now on a 12-game losing streak, with a glimmer of hope as the play Indiana tonight. They are still 14½ games ahead of the Nets (7-63) in the Eastern Conference, and still ahead of Minnesota (14-57) and Golden State (19-51) of the Western Conference for worst overall records.

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, nevermind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won't know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
