News and Personal Thoughts:
Ravens: Sergio Kindle is mouthing-off before training camp even opens, which immediately attracted the attention
of Ray Lewis... Ray Lewis gets a street named after him... Gaither may be hurt,
which is why he didn't show for offseason conditioning. The question is whether
or not it is physical or mental.
Orioles: The Orioles have rebounded to play .500 type ball the last couple weeks, which is where we expected them to start the season, not aspire to achieve. With the recent wins, the O's are now 1 behind Kansas City for the Worst Record in baseball.
Spider Watch: At 11 wins, we still need 9 more wins to catch the 1899 Cleveland Spiders (20-134). Stay tuned throughout the season, as I mark off various infamous goals. Current pace has us winning 51 games.
Crystal Palace Baltimore F.C. (Home games at UMBC): Crystal Palace (0-3-1) got out of the loss column (not yet in the win column), holding the league leading Vancouver Whitecaps (2-1-2) scoreless in a 0-0 draw. Next up on the road trip is a visit to Portland Timbers (3-0-1)on Thursday, and then on to play the Austin Aztex (3-1-0), on Sunday. The timbers are 2nd and 3rd place, respectively in the USL conference. The Palace are currently in sixth (last) place of the NASL conference.
Alouettes: The Als will open the preseason in Winnipeg on June 13th.
Blast: Nothing to report.
Mariners (See website for more details): The Baltimore Mariners (8-0) had the week off and lost ½ game in the standings to 2nd place Harrisburg (6-2). Wyoming (7-0) of the West Division is also still undefeated. The Mariners travel to Fayetteville (2-6) this weekend are off this weekend, and then will travel to play Richmond (3-5), after another bye week.
Capitals (See website for more details): Finally, someone killed the penguins! That should shut up the pittsburgh fans for a while. With the Devils, Red Wings and pens out of the playoffs, I don't really care who wins.
Wizards (See website for more details): I still have no comment.
What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, nevermind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won't know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
