News and Personal Thoughts:
Ravens: Matt Stover finally
retires after 20 years, 2004 Points, and 83.7 career FG%... Phil Simms thinks
Flacco can lead the Ravens to the Super Bowl, other armchair QBs aren't so
sure... NFL Season ticket sales are ahead of last years pace!?!
Orioles: After putting together a 5 game win streak to reach .500 and 4th place, the O's have done their best to reverse those fortunes dropping 4 in a row. I hate West Coast Trips!
Crystal Palace Baltimore F.C. (Home games at UMBC): Team to resume play in 2012 after completing construction of a downtown soccer facility.
Alouettes The Grey Cup will be "Redesigned" to make room for new winners, just in time for it's 100th anniversary... The Montreal Alouettes signed non-import kicker Sandro DeAngelis, less than a week after he was released by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. DeAngelis, a five-time West Division all-star, is coming off a disappointing season in Hamilton - his first with the Ticats - where he connected on only 32 of his 42 field goal attempts for a career low 76.2 per cent. The 30-year-old will compete for the starting job with Sean Whyte, whom the Alouettes acquired in a draft day trade with the BC Lions.
Blast: Construction magnate Willard Hackerman offers to finance and build new Baltimore Arena and convention complex. New facility would cost an estimated $900M and the arena would seat 18,500, which meets NBA and NHL standards opening up the possibility for bigger events in the future.
Chesapeake Bayhawks: The MLL was off this weekend to watch the NCAA championships. The Bayhawks (2-0) return to action on June 4 at Boston (1-1)... Maryland, who had a chance for a rare double championship, went home with none, as both the Men and Women last the championship games.
Charm: Nothing to Report.
Capitals (See website for more details): Nothing to report.
Wizards (See website for more details): Nothing to Report.
What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, nevermind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won't know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
