News and Personal Thoughts:
Ravens: Ravens could be nearing a
deal with Shayne Graham to challenge Billy Cundiff for the kicking job.
Orioles: The O's have hit another slump, and at the worst time as they head in to 9 straight games with the skanks and bosox, leading in to interleague play..
Spider Watch: At 15 wins, we still need 5 more wins to catch the 1899 Cleveland Spiders (20-134). Current project has been dropped to 47 wins.
Crystal Palace Baltimore F.C. (Home games at UMBC): Crystal Palace (3-5-1, 4th place NASL Conference) lost to the Austin Aztex (6-1-2, 1st of USL) at home, 2-0, in what is being described as their worst performance of the season. The Palace head on the road for what could be 5 straight road games, as they begin their quest for the US Open cup. In the mean time, they have back to back league road games against Miami (1-1-5, 5th place NASL) on June 9 and Rochester (4-3-2, 3rd place USL) on Saturday.
Alouettes: The Als will open the preseason in Winnipeg on June 13th.
Blast: The Blast open their youth clinics at Churchville Rec Center on June 21.
Mariners (See website for more details): The Baltimore Mariners (10-0) defeated the 5th place Richmond Raiders (5-6) on Saturday night, 57-39, clinching their 2nd consecutive playoff spot, and setting a new AIFA record (Along with Wyoming, also 10-0) with 10 consecutive regular season wins. The Mariners maintained their 3 game lead on Harrisburg, as they head into a home-and-home series with the Erie Storm (7-4, 3rd place). The Mariners will be home on Saturday, and then hit the road to complete the series on Sunday, June 13.
Bayhawks: The Hawks (2-1) lost their road match to the Chicago Machine in Pittsburgh, by a 17-14 score, dropping them in to a 4 way tie for first place. Their next game will be at home against the Boston Cannons (2-1) on Friday night.
Capitals (See website for more details): Caps scored the annual outdoor winter classic for next season. Only problem is that it is against the Pens at Heinz Field.
Wizards (See website for more details): Nothing to report.
What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, nevermind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won't know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
