News and Personal Thoughts:
Ravens:
Due to a training camp violation (yes, they apparently do exist), the Raven's had to cancel next weeks mini-camp, but
the players still get paid (gotta keep them off welfare, I guess). Apparently, Harbaugh was working them too hard,
in violation of the Players agreement, and someone complained. Harbaugh was embarrassed by the incident.
Orioles: The O's (16-41) lost 10 in a row before the latest miracle occurred. We are sure to regain our losing ways, as we head in to 6 games against New York (3 skanks, 3 shmets) before hitting the west coast for 6 games against the Sans (Francisco and then Diego). In short, we are that bad. I was there for that 11-0 debacle against the Dread Sox, and we just can't do anything right. Fate and Fortune play for the other team, as it is a rarity when we can capitalize on a mistake, or make something happen on our own.
Spider Watch: At 16 wins, we still need 4 more wins to catch the 1899 Cleveland Spiders (20-134). Current project has been dropped to 46 wins.
Crystal Palace Baltimore F.C. (Home games at UMBC): Crystal Palace (3-5-1, 4th place NASL Conference) are headed in to back to back league road games against Miami (1-2-6, 5th place NASL) on June 9 and Rochester (4-3-3, 3rd place USL) on Saturday.
Alouettes: The Als will open the preseason in Winnipeg on June 13th.
Blast: The Blast open their youth clinics at Churchville Rec Center on June 21.
Mariners (See website for more details): The Baltimore Mariners (11-0) defeated the 3rd place Erie Storm (7-5, tied for 3rd place) by a 51-34 score, clinching the East Division while maintaining their perfect record. The Mariners will complete the home-and-home series at Erie on Sunday, June 13, before returning home to close out the season against the winless last place New Jersey Revolution (0-11), and Reading Express (7-5, tied for 3rd Place). Wyoming of the West Division is also still undefeated at 11-0.
Bayhawks: The Hawks (3-1) avenged the Orioles weekend series by defeating the Boston Cannons (2-2) by a 17-14 score. This drops the Cannons out of the 1st place tie, but leaves the Hawks tied with both Chicago and Denver. Their next game will be at the Toronto Nationals (0-4) on Saturday.
Capitals (See website for more details): Nothing to report.
Wizards (See website for more details): Nothing to report.
What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, nevermind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won't know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
