Personal Thoughts:
Ravens: JO has
retired. Not surprised. It looks like Gaither is the heir apparent. He has the
brawn, but does he have the brain. Remember, he is the one we took in the
supplemental draft last year because he found out he was going to be
academically ineligible this past year at Maryland. Personally, I am not worried
about Gaither. I am more worried about lack of depth at TE, and the promise of a
more open attack on offense with a primarily unproven receiving corps.
Orioles: Orioles are back at .500 again. It should be an up and down season. Next up we get to watch Miguel Tejada jog out ground balls, but this time, we can cheer!
Mariners: Mariners (4-9) guaranteed that they won't finish in last place by winning the 2nd leg of the home-and-home series against the last place Canton Legends (2-11) by a score of 48-34. Our team jumped out early, scoring on their opening drive, and never looked back, extending their lead to 20-0 before the Legends got on the board in the waning minute of the first half. The Mariners will conclude their inaugural season against the second place Reading Express (9-4), on Monday, June 23.
Crystal Palace Baltimore F.C.: Crystal Palace (6-3-0, 18 points) got back in the win column with an out-of-league 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Legends, followed by a home victory against the 2nd place Cleveland City Stars (6-2-3, 21 points), also by a score of 2-1. Crystal Palace still resides in 3rd place, as they hit the road for a 4-game road trip, starting against the ninth place Wilmington Hammerheads (1-5-2, 10 points) on June 17th, whom the Palace defeated by a score of 2-0 in the 3rd game of the season.
Alouettes: The Stallions played to a 34-34 tie with the Argonauts to open the preseason last Thursday night. Next up is a trip to Winnipeg on Thursday, June 19. Not much to report on preseason games because, well... you know. Regular season starts June 26 with a road trip to play the Hamilton Ti-Cats.Blast: No news on the new league.
What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, nevermind. No one is reading this anyway, so I will just butcher things up however I please, and you won't know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
