Personal Thoughts:
Ravens: With Mason still out of
the picture, the young receiving core is trying to step up. That is our biggest
test still. I still think Mason will return. Linebackers will shape up; Heap
will be back, but he may be on the downside of his career, given the abuse he
has put his body through in the past season. Look for more feedback next week as
players start leveling in preparations for the first preseason game.
Orioles: Sherrill gone to LA for prospects, which will probably end up being a good move. Red Sox this weekend, so things should turn ugly after salvaging a split with KC.
Crystal Palace
Baltimore F.C. (Home games at UMBC):
Palace (6-8-4, 22 Points) is heading to the close of the season with a
whimper. After dropping the exhibition match against Crystal Palace UK by a 5-2
score, they returned to league play to Lose 2-1 to the Richmond Kickers (8-3-5,
29 points) and then play the Charlotte Eagles (6-5-6, 24 points) to a 0-0 draw.
This leaves the Palace still tile with Real Maryland (7-8-1, 22 Points) but now
the tie is for 5th place. The final 2 regular season games are against the
Harrisburg (9-5-2) on August 7 and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds (5-8-4) on August
15. City Islanders
Blast: Join
the Blasts for Breakfast on Saturday, August 29 from 9-10:30 at the ESPN
Zone.
All-Star Players from the Blast, Rochford and Philadelphia traveled to
Bermuda to take on an All-Star team from the Island Soccer League (ISL), and
returned home victorious, 4-2.
Also of note is that Eight Blast players are
playing in the USL this summer to fill the off-season void: Matt Watson
(Carolina RailHawks), Scott Buete (Charleston Battery), Jonathan Greenfield
(Minnesota Thunder), Pat Healey (Crystal Palace Baltimore), Ryan Pierce (Crystal
Palace Baltimore), Machel Millwood (Crystal Palace Baltimore), Dave Kern (Real
Maryland Monarchs) and Adrian Bumbut (Richmond Kickers).
Mariners: The Reading Express (14-3) claimed AIFA Bowl III title by defeating the West Champion Wyoming Cavalry (13-3) 65-42, in Wyoming on July 25.
What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, nevermind. No one is reading this anyway, so I will just butcher things up however I please, and you won't know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
