Personal Thoughts:
Ravens: Ravens beat New England! Too bad it didn't count for much. Boller played like Boller, so now Coach Harbaugh knows what he is working with. Let us hope we can see some more of the other two this next game. The rest of the game was sloppy. We looked like we were playing our first preseason game. Oh wait... we were! All in all, it is what we are used to seeing: Questionable offense and a stand up defense.

Orioles: I think they can, I think they can, I think they can...

Crystal Palace Baltimore F.C.: Crystal Palace (USL2 11-7-1, 34 points), dropped their re-match with the Bermuda Hogges (5-12-2, 17), by a 3-1 score in a game that dropped them down from a brief 3rd place stint, in to 4th place, one point behind Cleveland (10-3-5, 35).

Up next is the their regular season on Saturday, August 9th, with a road trip to visit the 2nd place Richmond Kickers (13-4-2, 41), who are looking to slip ahead of the division leading Charlotte Eagles (13-2-4, 43).

Alouettes: The "Stallions" (4-3) extended their winning streak to 2 games and stayed in first place by ripping the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (1-6) 39-11. The Als once again relied on the leg of their Kicker Damon Duvall, who tied his personal best of 6 FGs in a game, giving him 11 field goals in the last 2 games. With Jarrett Payton released in the offseason, the Als have chosen to go with Avon Coburne at Tailback, who is pace to become the first player to record 1000 yards in both rushing and receiving in one season. Next up is a Friday game road trip to play the 2nd place Toronto Argonauts (3-4).

Blast: (No change from last weeks report) Rumor has it that the new league has been formed, but not yet named. Also, rumor has it that a location for a new arena has been identified just west of downtown. This will allow the current facility to operate until the new building is opened in 2010 or 2011. However, Ed Hale, owner of the Blast, needs to figure out a new business plan, since the only way he has kept the team afloat is to build and sell advertising boards on the side of the current facility. This may not be an option with the new structure. Also to note is that the plans call for an 18,500 seat arena, which would be enticing to new and relocating NBA and NHL candidates. May be we can get back to the big leagues in a few other sports, but do we have the fans with the financial resources to support them?

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, nevermind. No one is reading this anyway, so I will just butcher things up however I please, and you won't know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
