Commentary

Personal Thoughts:
Ravens: Flacco looked better although he still couldn't find the end zone. He was more Calm, and I still like Rice as a RB. Bramlet might make the team given the Boller/Smith health issues as the #3 guy, but there is a reason he has been on 6 NFL teams, and not thrown an NFL pass yet: He doesn't see the whole field, although he did a better job then Harrington. Yes, he just got off the plane, but he wasn't see their defense, which led to 2 INTs. As a side note, he was the 2007 World Bowl XV MVP.

Front line held up a little better, but if Rice wasn't running, nobody was. I am hoping for a respectable showing against Cincy, who is in constant disarray. I am hoping to start the season with a win.

Orioles: They demoralized me with the loss on Friday night to the Yankees when Trembley was playing musical pitching rubber, and the 7 pitchers couldn't stop those damn Yankees from scoring 6 runs in the last two innings. Let me tell you, there are two things in the sports world that I right can't stand: A happy stealer fan and a happy yankee fan. I left the park, and was not a happy camper. The O's have given up, and so I have I. Can't football season start already?

Crystal Palace Baltimore F.C.: Posted August 29 on the Palace's website: Palace USA's veteran left winger Val Teixeira has joined the parent club in England on trial. The Portuguese native was sent across the pond in an effort to boost the London team's scoring capabilities after a poor start to the '08-'09 Coca Cola Championship season.

Blast: The website says that more news shall be coming on the 2008-9 season, but they left us hanging on details.

Mariners: No new news.

• World Series: Tampa Bay Rays over the Chicago Cubs in 6 games. You heard it here first.
• Week 1:
  • Giants (-3½) over the deadskins. Giants are still riding high after that superbowl miracle.
  • Ravens (+1½) over Cincy. Riding Flacco, the Ravens will show up big on Special Teams and defense, while the offense does just enough not to lose.
  • Jets (-3½) over Miami. Brett is not done yet.
  • Pats (-16½) over KC, but take the points. That is too many points to give up in Week 1. Larry Johnson will return. He has to, my fantasy football team depends on it.
  • Pit (-6½) over Houston. I really rather take Houston. Too bad this game ain't in Houston.
  • Jax (-3½) over Tennessee. Vince Young is good, but Jacksonville is better.
  • Detroit (-2½) over Atlanta. Atlanta is in chaos right now.
  • Buffalo (+½) over Seattle. Seattle is in injury hell, and a road opener won't help.
  • Tampa (+3½) over the Saints. Tampa made a lot of off season moves that will pay off. The Saint are more distracted by the weather right now.
  • Philly (-7½) over the Rams. Philly will be a force to deal with in that East division.
  • Cleveland (+4½) over Dallas. I still haven't voted for Dallas as America's team. Derek Anderson will turn a few more heads starting on Sunday.
  • SD (-9½) over Carolina. Can't stop Tomlinson, especially in SD.
  • SF (+2½) over Arizona. San Fran has Arizona's number.
  • Indy (-9½) over Chicago, but take the points. Chicago's Defense and special teams will show up, and make those points look all wrong.
  • Minnesota (+2½) over Green Bay. GB staring Rodgers while Favre in New Jersey? Something ain't right here.
  • Denver (-2½) over Oakland. Will anyone be awake to see the start of this game? Will anyone care?
