Iggy's Raven's Report - 29 October 2009

It doesn't really matter who is to blame for our struggles, it is how we respond to them. The problem, as I see it is that we are built to be a Pass-first offense. The may be alien to us fans in Baltimore, but we need to embrace the fact that we need to establish the pass to open up the run. If we try to be a run-first offense, 3 and out will become more familiar than we wish it to be. Last game, we tried to establish the run first. That is not going to work. Look at your strengths and embrace them, not try to change them.

• Week 7
  • Packers over the Browns (+7½), but take the points. Browns have covered their last 3 games Browns who? Did they play?
  • Colts over the Lambs (+13½). Bulger being back won't cover this spread. Lambs who? Did they play?
  • Team That Must Not Be Named over Minnesota (+4½), but take the points. We softened up and exposed the Vikings, but the TTMNBN can't seem to put away their opponents. %$(&(%$*@$ Defensive TDs
  • Pats over Bucs (+14½). Pats will run up the score again. Tampa needs to go further than London to escape that matchup.
  • SD over KC (+4½). Chargers get back on track. And SD gets Oakland this week!
  • Niners (+3½) over Houston. Houston surprised Cincincy last week, but the Niners have been surprising me all season. I guess I should have gone with the Home Team.
  • Buffalo (+7½) over Carolina. Carolina is really struggling, and Buffalo might be starting to emerge from their struggles. How was Carolina favored anyway?
  • Jets over Oakland (+7½), but take the points. Black hole is twilight zone for Jets. Oakland who? Did they play?
  • Bengals over Bears (+1½). My homework says that the Bengals don't cover, and the Bears operate well as the dog. My gut says otherwise. This was the perfect week for the Ravens to be off, and I had to start Palmer in my FFL
  • Atlanta (+3½) over Dallas. NFC East is overrated. Maybe Dallas has some punch left.
  • Saints over Fins (+6½). Blow out. Saint had to rely on a prayer here.
  • Giants over Cards (+6½), but take the points. Giants are the only team in the NFC East that is worth anything. Cards straight up! What's up with that?
  • Eagles over Skins (+7½), but take the points. Skins play close games, regardless of their opponent. Eagle will rebound from Oakland. They almost covered.
  • Ravens won't lose on a last minute drive this week.
  • This Week: 10-3 Straight Up; 8-5 Against the Spread
  • Season: 67-36 Straight Up; 55-48 Against the Spread
• Week 8
  • Ravens over Broncos (+3½), but take the points. Another one down to the wire. I am expecting us to end up on the positive side for a change.
  • Bears over Brownies (+13½), but take the points. Cleveland barely lost to Cinciny, and Cinciny blew out Chicago, therefore the Brownies win! Right? This game is in Chicago, though.
  • Houston over Bills (+3½), but take the points. The Spread has been favorable to Buffalo thus far, but not Houston.
  • Jets over Fins (+3½). Fins big lead last week against N'arleans last week was a fluke.
  • Colts over Niners (+12½), but take the points. Niners can put up some points against the Colts, but not enough to win.
  • Dallas over Seattle (+9½). Seattle needs more than 1 week off.
  • Lions over Lambs (+4½). Regardless of who wins, will anyone notice?
  • Giants (+1½) over Eagles. Giants to rebound after Arizona.
  • Jax (+3½) over Titans. Even being home won't help the Titans win.
  • Chargers over Oakland (+16½), but take the points. Those are way too many points to give up. Chargers only won by 4 in the season opener between these two.
  • Favre (+3½) over Packers. He did it once already. Why not the sweep?
  • Zona over Panthers (+9½). Blow out.
  • Saints over Falcons (+9½). What ever the over/under is, put you money on the over number.
• MLB
  • Divisional Series (Record: 3-1)
    • Skanks over Twins in 4. Twins are there because they were better than Detroit Did the Tigers knock out the twins and take their places?
    • Angels over Sox in 4. Sox can take out anyone in the AL playoffs... except LA Now can the Angels take out NY?
    • Dodgers over the Cards in 4. Dodgers are the team to beat in the NL. Only took 3 games
    • Colorado over the Phillies in 5. Philadelphia has issues. ...and so does Colorado's bullpen, apparently.
  • League Championship Series (Record 0-2)
    • Angels over the Damn Yankees in 7. LA is the better team. Angels need the Devil to beat Yanks. Problem is, that the Devil is a Yankees fan
    • Dodgers over Phils in 6. Phils shouldn't even be here, but they won't seem to die. What a battle! Whomever wins, might not be able to stand to face AL
  • World Series
    • Quite a quandry. Yankees pitching is very erratic, but so is the Phillies pitching. I want Philly to win, but Yankees have home field advantage. Go with Yankees in 6. (May be that will jinx 'em)
