  • Welcome to our newest Roost #4 members:  A big Roost #4 welcome goes out to our newest member inducted at our July 26th meeting: Dee Yakel and Zeke Zelkoski.  A big Roost #4 welcome also goes out to our member inducted at our at our June 28th meeting: Kathy Orlando and Frank Clifton.  Rookies, rookies, rookies won't you kiss our $&%!!!  Welcome aboard!


  • Roost #4 July Birthdays:  Happy birthday wishes are in order this month for: Julie Moreland (7/15), Buzzy Suter and Bobby Sybert (7/18 - twin sons of different mothers), Carol Simpers (7/27), and Bob Caldwell (7/31 - our Roost #4 picnic!)!  Happy birthday all!!!


  • Roost #4 2010 Membership Drive: Roost #4 is holding our annual membership drive between our May 24th and August 23rd meetings.  The winner will receive a free ride on 2011 Membership Dues (a $30 value)!

  • Roost #4 2010 Golf Tourney Hole Sponsorship Competition: Roost #4 will once again hold a competition to see which member can sell the most hole sponsorships for our 2010 tournament (July 17th at Hollow Creek) between now and July 10th.  Hole sponsorships are $50 per hole or 2 for $75.  Click here for a registration form / hole sponsor form

     

    The Roost #4 member that sells the most hole sponsorships prior to the July 10th deadline will get a free ride on annual dues for the 2011 fiscal year!  The winner will be announced at the July 26th meeting!

  • Roost #4 Donation to Animal Advocates of Howard County: Joel Hampshire, Director of Charitable Contributions for Ravens Roost #4, presented a $1000 check to Ann Selnick of Animal Advocates of Howard County at the Roost #4 April 26th, 2010 meeting at Jilly's.  Remember to consider adoption as your first option when looking for a new pet!  Here's a picture of the presentation to Ann (Click on Thumbnail for Larger View):

     

     


  • Ravens Kickoff Manic Monday: WJZ TV broadcast LIVE in Fells Point at 6am on Monday, September 7th - we sang Manic Monday on the air with a bunch of fellow Ravens fans, and kicked-off the Ravens 2009 season in style!  Roost #4 had 6 members there celebrating our 50th Anniversary!  Thanks to Bill & Theresa Griffin, Frosty & Anna Volmer, Beth Adams, and Mitch Hooper for beating the sunrise to promote the Roost!

  • Roost #4 to "Adopt-a-Highway"!: Roost #4 voted to adopt a stretch of highway at their July 23, 2007 meeting.  The section of highway we are now responsible for is Frederick Road between Oella Avenue near the horse farm to The Trolley Stop at the river.  For more information on the Adopt-a-Highway program, go to Roost #4 Adopt-a-Highway

    The last clean-up was Saturday, April 10th, 2010, 7:30am.  The 2010 upcoming clean-up dates are scheduled for the following Saturday mornings: June 12th, August 14th, and October 16th (all weather permitting)!  Contact Denise for more information or to volunteer!  Thanks to all our volunteers for helping-out!

     


  •  Roost #4 2008 "Formula 4 Success" Scholarship Award Winners:  Ravens Roost #4 presented 2 $1500 checks to their 2008 "Formula 4 Success" Scholarship award winners at their 50th Anniversary Bull and Oyster Roast on March 28th, 2009.  Congrats to winners Samuel Plazak of Hammond High School and Matthew Bounds of Wilde LakeClick here for more information

     


  • Roost #4 2008 Donation to the Todd Heap Foundation: Joel Hampshire, Director of Charitable Contributions for Ravens Roost #4, presented a $1000 check to Kathleen Elliott of the Baltimore Community Foundation (representing the Todd Heap Foundation) at our March 23, 2009 meeting.

  • Roost #4 2008 Donation to Gilchrist Hospice Care: Joel Hampshire, Director of Charitable Contributions for Ravens Roost #4, presented a $1000 check to Hal Friedman of Gilchrist Hospice Care at our February 23, 2009 meeting.

  • Roost #4 Volunteers at Ray Lewis Foundation Event:  On Tuesday, November 25th, a bunch of Roost #4 members helped Ray Lewis, Mark Clayton, and a slew of volunteers distribute Thanksgiving dinner fixins to over 600 families at Diakon Place at the corner of North Avenue and North Broadway in Baltimore.  Roost #4 was represented by newest member, Tom Thompson, soon-to-be member, Melissa Coveleski, and members Frosty & Anna Volmer, Mitch & Cindy Hooper, Leslie Pacen, Kristin Shinham, and Bill & Theresa Griffin.  Also assisting were George & Sue Draper of Roost #65 in Pasadena and Captain Dee-Fense!  Thanks to Ray for stopping-by to thank all the volunteers!  See a video clip at http://wjz.com/video/ titled "Ravens Star Works to Make Thanksgiving Happy" and dated November 25th.

  • Roost #4 2007 Donation to the Believe in Tomorrow National Children's Foundation: Joel Hampshire, Director of Charitable Contributions for Ravens Roost #4, presented a $1000 check to Darlene Kean of  The Believe In Tomorrow National Children's Foundation at the Roost #4 October 22, 2008 meeting at Jilly's of Ellicott City.

  • Roost #4 2006 Donation to the Believe in Tomorrow National Children's Foundation: Joel Hampshire, Director of Charitable Contributions for Ravens Roost #4, presented a $1000 check to Lindsay Thomas of  The Believe In Tomorrow National Children's Foundation at the Roost #4 May 22nd meeting at the Judge's Bench.  Their mission is dedicated to improving the quality of life for critically ill children and their families through three unique programs.  Serving over 38,000 children each year, they have become a national leader in pediatric support services that help to ease pain, reduce loneliness and bring joy to children throughout their treatment process.

  • Roost #4 Donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society - Maryland Chapter: Joel Hampshire, Director of Charitable Contributions for Ravens Roost #4, presented a $1000 check to Sharon Dodge, a member of the Board of Directors for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society - Maryland Chapter at the Roost #4 April 24th meeting at the Judge's Bench.  The mission of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.  The Maryland Chapter offers vital programs and services to the more than 5,000 Marylanders living with MS.   • Council of Ravens Roosts "BigGoGriller" Now Available:  The Council of Ravens Roosts is now taking orders for these unique tailgating grills. Price is $200.00 and includes shipping. Not shown are the detachable legs so that you can remove the grill from the truck and use it elsewhere. This is a charcoal grill only - propane is not an option.
