Finishing touches in the kitchen! What a day! Mrs. Lynch Thanks to all Roost #4 members who came-out and helped with the home renovation on Saturday, April 30th (in the rain!): House Captain & Roost #4 Coordinator Wendy Kelly, Dave Knight, Ken Bauer, Mandy Young, Clark & Barb Turos, Karen Suter, Brenda Hyre's brother-in-law Dean Quintilian, and newest Roost #4 member Joel Hampshire! Thanks also to the Roost #4 members that went to the house days in advance to assess the situation and plan for the event - Mike Fancher, Kurt Henningsen, & Chris Cisna! Here's what Wendy had to say about the experience: "We all had a very rewarding time. Yes it rained most of the day but a majority of the workers were inside. We had 9 of us show up to work. We accomplished all of the work that was on our list, but found things we would like to see fixed. I was the house captain and coordinator and go for.... Mandy Young and Barb Turos were painters and cleaners, (with the help of Karen Suter) the ceiling in the kitchen was falling apart and the dining room and hall needed painted. The request was for the trim to be cleaned and painted, they painted the complete hallway, dining room and the area of the kitchen that could be painted to include all of the above ceilings. Ken Bauer and Clark Turos and with the help of Dave Knight replaced the two basement windows. The old broken ones were removed and replaced, not an easy job. As a matter of fact it took them all day. We were there from 8am to 5pm!!! Newest member Joel Hampshire helped with the landscaping events that were not even on the list, but Honeywell people had mulch, flowers etc. There was a wood pile that needed piling up and Karen and Joel helped with that too. Dean Quintilian (Brenda Hyre's brother in law) organized and completed replacing the sub-flooring in the kitchen and then replaced it with new tiles. Barb also helped with that job. Karen also painted the inside handrail that was installed. It was a great group effort and afterwards at Da Bench we were tired and muddy needless to say were all very humbled by the experience..... and boy was the BEER COLD...!" Wendy Kelly
