Chairman of the Board report – Ken

We had a meeting and we drank some beer.  Council Bull Roast is the Saturday after the Super Bowl.  We have three tables.  They are doing a wagon wheel.  Frosty pulled two bottles of some type of whiskey out of the back of his closet and will donate them to the Council Bull Roast.

Road Trip – Our away games next season include San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, and Miami.  An away venue will be chosen at some time in the future.

Picnic – Jocelyn

Will be taking care of the picnic this year as the new Social Director.  It will be two weeks after the golf outing in July.  The Golf outing is always the Saturday after the 4th.  More news to follow at a future meeting…

Old News - The By-laws were reviewed and updated about 4 years ago but some changes and items of importance have been lost along the way.  Ken will form a committee and take a look at the by-laws and update and change the things that need to be corrected.

Membership – 78 – no new members

Plunge - Mitch will put a map up on the website to let everyone know where the Roost #4’s lot will be at Sandy Park.

Merchandise - We will not be taking any new merchandise orders for a while.

Treasurer’s report - $4655.42 – scholarship, $4065.13 – general accounting

Vice-President – Bob was not here.  He went to a council meeting and now’s he’s hoping he’ll never have to go again.

Committee reports –

Director of Ways and Means – Beth.

Will try to get tickets out by next meeting

Bull Roast – Pat

Has the tickets and has given about 30 tickets out already.  Linwood Center was kind enough to take a table.

Golf – no news until next month.

Charitable – Joel

Next couple of weeks Joel will be asking for local charities that will be candidates for the award.  We can look forward to the April or June timeframe for the presentation.

Picnic – Jocelyn

Will need volunteers and she already has the pavilion reserved.

Oriole’s day at the park – June 16th – Diamondbacks – 30 tickets will be bought.  Let’s not let what happened last year prevent us from having a great time. J  A motion was made and passed to spend $456 for the 30 tickets.  Section 98 rows a, b, c seats 8-17 in the bleachers

Unwritten rule – Lee and Leslie passed their probationary period to see if they ‘fit in’.   Mention Grape Bomb to them and watch their reaction.

Good and Welfare – Karen

Nothing new to report but don’t forget to let her know if you hear of anything that needs to be addressed.

Mikey (Fancher) got engaged, Mikey got engaged (in a sing-song voice)!

Ravens Report – Scott

We had no game plan.  Just run, run, pass, kick.  They sucked.  Go Bears!  Because we don’t want the $%@#’s to win.  We now have 7 unrestricted free agents, 3 restricted free agents.  Jamal is most likely gone.  It would cost $5 million to pick him up and we probably won’t go for it.  Ovie Mughelli is the next big contract that’s up.  We resigned 5 practice team players that most of us have probably not heard of.  On another note, Michael Vick will most probably not be convicted of his pot hidden in the water bottle.  Parcells is retiring, again….

The Bench for the Super Bowl?  They’re having their normal Sunday NFL deals and live entertainment after the game.

Skuttlebutt - maybe our Roost should find a more suitable place for meeting.  The Board can get together and talk and then bring it back to the general.  The Roost was meeting here because of Monday Night Football but they usually have entertainment and the kitchen is usually closed.  Everyone had a blast Saturday night at the Phoenix.  No big screen TV - but that could be negotiated.

Our next General meeting will be February 19th.

Plunge – hopefully we’ll all have a good time.  Weather looks like it will be about 40 degrees.  Frosty has two passes for the Roost parking lot.  Frosty has one because he’s taking the canopy and other necessary stuff.  Get there no later than 9am or 10 pm because this year there are over 5,000 pre-registered plungers.  In addition they expect an additional 30- 40% walk-in sign-ups.  So you’re looking at close to 9 or 10K people.  Shuttle busses start from Kent Island at 10am and from the Navel Academy at 9am.  George Draper the Council Roost photographer will be taking pictures so get in your costume and be ready!  Especially if you like to dress up like a woman, if you are a man that is…  There will be a Roost photo album of all the plungers and George is going to put it together.  Bring a change of shoes and don’t wear flip-flops.  Your feet WILL be cold!  Don’t you remember what your mother used to tell you?  If you’re feet are cold, you’re cold all over.

Then Ken said the meeting was going long but Frosty said he’d be out of here by 8pm because Jack Bauer is on, to save the world again

50-50 – Missy - $26.00 – 352595 – No, it wasn’t Jocelyn again this time, Mandy was the winner.
