March 26, 2007 – Judge’s
Bench
Call to order – Frosty

Minutes – Last month’s minutes were accepted. We are still in need of a recording
secretary.
President’s Report - Council report – Frosty
- The
council meeting had 20 to 25 members of The Baltimore Burn. In Frosty’s words they were big….BIG
women who were representing the Baltimore Burn. Please visit www.baltimoreburn.com Tickets to the games are $10 in advance,
$15 at the door.
- There
is a new roost. Roost 95. Their home base is the former Crofton Cantina

- The Council
bull roast made $26,000 in profits..
- Roost

More details later.
- Roost
44 will hold a golf tournament when we’re down in OC for the convention. More details later.
- Roost
7’s EE banquet is April 21st. $25
per person.
Chairman of the Board – Ken
- We had
a board meeting last Monday to tally questionnaire feedback. Mitch has sent out the responses
electronically. We received 41
responses out of 76 active members.
[For those of you with snail mail only, I will include a copy of
the results in your newsletter. ed].
Membership Report – Mitch was not present, being out of town
[which is better than being out of his mind J]
but according to records we still have 76 members and no new member joined at
the meeting.
Treasurer’s Report – Mandy was not present but she had given
Frosty the information.
- Scholarship
fund - $3777.42. Operations fund -
$4480.04.
Vice President’s Report – Bob (who just
returned from the Philippines!)
- Convention
tickets are $50 each. Bob has
tickets. We also have a council
shirt but it didn’t seem like it was generating a lot of interest. Need forms? See Bob.
Convention on 31st.
Thursday there will be a welcome social from 7-11 (no food). There will be an open mike night contest,
a scavenger hunt, punt and pass, tug of war, and new this year, a new this
year… a dunk tank. And of course
our float and the big beach party.
Sunday will be the big presidents meeting that no one attends.
- Frosty
had flyers up front for the scavenger hunt. For everything that’s going on there is
a registration form, all which will most likely have to be turned in by our
next meeting.
- Roost
4 will be running the dunk tank for about 2-3 hours. There will be a charity assigned to the
dunk tank where the money people will have to pay will go. There was a suggestion that we should
put Cindy up there just to harass the hell out of people and generate more
funds. The council is bringing the
tank. We are just in charge of
running it. More details next
month.
Director of Ways and Means – Beth. We will have a table at the bull and oyster
roast for general sale of the scholarship tickets. For those of you who have not yet received
your allotment of 5 scholarship tickets to sell, those tickets will be going
out in the mail soon.
Committee reports
Bullroast – Pat. Tickets
are out. List is here to sign up for
wheels. Everyone will have to work all
night because we don’t have enough volunteers.
We need volunteers! We need ninety
balloons and we don’t want to pay $50 dollars for a helium tank from Party
City. The Bullroast is this Saturday. We need a volunteer to help Patty. She wants Party
City to blow up the balloons for
free and she needs help transporting the balloons to the hall. Missy has volunteered but she could use more
help. Contact Patty of you can help out. Shorty is thinking about it. Karen has the sign up sheets for the
wheels. If you have money to turn in for
the tickets please give it to Patty tonight.
We need that money in the bank so we can cover the checks that we will
write on Saturday. We need help at the
wheels!

Good and Welfare – Karen
- Ken
and Jocelyn’s daughter has been ill with a rare autoimmune disease which
has caused partial paralysis. But
she’s doing fine now. She’s in Mt.
Washington pediatric. Karen sent a basket and Jocelyn said she
loves it.
- Suzanne
DiMarino’s father passed away after a very trying recovery after hip
replacement surgery. We sent a
Raven’s theme basket. It was
beautiful and Suzanne was very appreciative.
- Shorty
showed us a very nicely framed certificate the Roost received from our donations
to the sheriffs department. He also had a picture of Chuck giving Shorty
the certificate.
New business – Frosty
- Last
month Frosty mentioned about the upcoming MS walk on 4/14 at Harpers Choice. Frosty’s best friend was found to have MS
and Frosty will be walking for Scott Miller. He’s doing fine on an experimental drug
program. Feel free to throw a
couple bucks in that direction.
- Oriole
game outing. Third Saturday in
June. Sign up at next meeting.
Old business -
- Meeting
place – Buzzy - Jaybird and Buzzy have been diligently researching the
county for potential meeting places for Roost 4. Lots of places would love to have us. Jillys in Enchanted
Forest printed up a
flyer. They have a private room that
holds 80 people,
27 televisions including 5 big screens, they will give us 10% off all tabs with
our Ravens Roost card. Blue Pointe Grill
would love to have us too. Sarifino’s
at the corner of Plum Tree drive directly across the street from The Crab
Shanty would like to have us too. They
have a nice room and a big screen TV.
The Phoenix would like
to have us too. The Trolley stop is
not in Ellicott City. We are
waiting for the new owner of the Bench to take over to talk to us about
what they will do for us here.
Jaybird and Buzzy have spent ‘thousands of dollars’ in these places
doing their research. They are
encouraging members to visit these places and see for yourselves. It will be a vote of the
membership. Not just what Buzzy and
Jaybird have logged on their report. Go check ‘em out. The copy of the tally sheet will be
given over to the board of directors and it will be discussed at the next
board meeting. [If I can get this
newsletter and the questionnaire
printed and still be under 4
sheets I’ll include a copy of Buzzy’s report. Otherwise it will be available at the
next meeting. ed]
Ravens report – Scott
- Quiet
couple weeks. Teaser. Prime time Monday night in Cinn. Opener.
Colts are playing Thursday night against the saints. Redmond is being
picked up in Atlanta. Don’t
try to follow the blackbirds. It’s
too hard. They just lost
80-20. But the first three teams
they’ve played have a combined record that places them at slots 1 and 2 so
it’s hard to judge. Baltimore Burn start their season in two weeks.
50-50 – 34.50$ - xxx834 – Buzzy wins!
Adjournment.
