Gary Eikenberg Sold 50-50’s.  Ken Bauer won $84.00.  A moment of silence was taken for Sports Announcer, Chuck Thompson.

Treasurer’s Report

 

Operations Account $8,728.79, which $500 allocated for sports hero plaques that we will put in museum.  Carry two accounts, scholarship account stand alone, are dedicated to scholarship fund $3,715.30.

 

GUEST SPEAKER

Dave Fischvogt and Sydney Johnson (Sports Legends at Camden Yards).  Renovations are going well.  Need volunteers to help keep it running.   Gave a wonderful tour of the new facility.  You start at the Gallery (Negro League) then the Minor Leagues, then to The Discovery Room for kids, The Stadium Room which has the announcers, vendors and a spot where “You Make the Call”, the next section is College Sports, the next room is the Maryland Sports Hall of Fame, next the Colts Room, memories of the old Memorial Stadium and you can hear 50’s and 60’s plays, next the Mayflower Van, next is the radio show of the Colt’s departure, next is the Johnny Unitas room (which includes his Trophy from University of Louisville, his bedroom and you can listen in a huddle of Johnny Unitas calling plays, next is the RAVENS room, this includes Superbowl year highlights and trophy, next is the Non-Sports room (which is the gentlemen’s room with 1860 Civil War Memories (The War Room), and finally the gift shop.

VICE PRESIDENT REPORT – Dennis Colhouer

 

Convention coming up.  June 3,4, and 5th .  Registration due by April meeting, March 28.  $40.00, Lodging is Castle In the Sand, may call for reservations, someone may have cancelled.

 

Chris Cisna is making golf tee times to run simultaneously with the RR #44 tournament that same weekend.  Please let Chris know if you would like to play at the meeting on March 28. 

 

A cell phone list would like to be put together for the convention.  Please give Dennis your cell phone number if you would like to be included on the list.

 

Mandy and Mike Fancher are putting together a Program Ad. (not sure about this Mitch).

 

The following people will volunteer to head the following for the convention:

 

            Volleyball – Mike Fancher

            Horseshoes – Dave Knight

            Tug of War – Buzzy and Karen

            T-shirts -  Frosty (they look great Frosty)

            Scavenger Hunt – Open

            Karaoke Night – (need to have try outs for person to represent RR#4 for contest.)

                        Chris Cisna said we should have pre-contest at bar if people want to

                        Compete.

COUNCIL REPORT – Ken Bauer

MITCH HOOPER – WEBSITE

Working on making changes to website and weekly updates.  Update will be shorter.  Website will be linked to update.  Website will entail, updating weekly at a minimum, we are now posting a weekly Ravens report from Bob Caldwell, links to other sites that are relevant, locally businesses, etc., current events, past week put on membership application for ability to print and mail in.  Ravens Roost 4 Business to Business contact list (for those who would like to provide services to Roost members at a discount).  See Mitch for advertising at no cost.

The website will be displaying more pictures.  Should be displaying them shortly.

 

DIRECTOR OF CONTRIBUTIONS -= WENDY

 

Wendy has been working with Christmas In April.  The Roost has sponsored a home on Folly Quarter Road.  A sign up sheet was filled out at meeting for Volunteers.  Wendy has the list.  If you would like to volunteer, please call Wendy.  **Mitch, could you please include Wendy’s email and phone number.)**  Deadline is April 30.  April 30 is the actual “Christmas in April” day.  That is when all the organizations who sponsored a home is actually done.

 

DIRECTOR OF WAYS AND MEANS – Toni Reese

Bill Griffin (Bull Roast) – we have cut off date to return tickets, money in by February meeting.  Sign up sheets for plush wheel and money wheel, might have one or two tickets left, practically sold out, people will need tickets.  Help on door prizes.  Mandy is organizing a basket of cheer.  Pre-printed receipt for door prizes for merchants.

 

Frosty Volmer (Golf Outing) – Hollow Creek, July 9 in Middletown. Information available (Frosty has flyers) at April meeting also.  Put on website and flyers.  Same distance to travel.  May go up to $85 or $90, this year.   Several members may want a bus.  Won’t be a Roost run bus, it will all depend on how many people want to go.  $15 to $25 per head depending on head count.  Please let Mandy know if you are interested.  Good turnout and Mandy will pay deposit.  Leave from this parking lot at 11:00 and depart when day is over at golf course.

 

SCHOLARSHIP – Mandy Young

 

Will present two winners with plaque at Bull Roast.  All have confirmed.  Good job scholarship committee.

 

Scholarship Raffle – Toni Reese taking over ticket sales.  Toni handed out everyone their raffle tickets to sell.  All members must sell five.

SOCIAL DIRECTOR – Chris Cisna

Chris has planned a bowling night at Normandy Lanes, March 26th, $15.00 (includes shoes), bar open, 7:30 to 9:30.  Please call Chris (410-796-5426) if would like to attend.

Karen Suter voted to be the Chair for Good and Welfare.

 

OLD BUSINESS

Ravens Roosts license plate registration forms are available.  The Post Office Box has been set up for Roost #4 mail.  We have finalized the plaques that will be in the Sports Legends at Camden Yards.
