COUNCIL REPORT – Ken

Council Bull Roast is March 19, day after ours, at Towson Center in Towson. This hall holds more people, 1,000 or 1,500 more.  Last year we purchased six tables but we can scale that down.  Please let Ken know if you would like a table or a ticket.

 

Bar in Bahamas, only NFL bar in the Bahamas, would like Ravens stuff.  Brad will donate banner (NFL) to the bar.  Thanks Brad.  We as a Roost will gather items to send.

 

Tues, October 20, Adalias Thomas Golf Outing, $200/person, see Ken for details.

 

VICE PRESIDENT – Dennis Colhouer

Mandy – There was something mentioned about the rooms being totally booked.  She spoke with Patricia Smith and if you had a room from the convention this past summer, they will hold your room until December 31st, but you need to call.  They will open up the rooms to everyone the 1st of January.  If you are a member who had a room this summer and are not going, please book the room under your name and we will pay for it if we know a new member who would like to go.  We will then reserve that room under the new member name.

 

TREASURE’S REPORT – Mandy

Balance is $28,140.89 - $15,075 is for the trip - $2250 allocated for Charitable Contributions, $4358.82 for the Scholarship fund.

BOARD REPORT – Edward Powers - None

 

 

DIRECTOR OF WAYS AND MEANS – Toni Reese

This category oversees the Bull Roast and other Roost events.

Pat – Bull Roast Report – Hall is booked for Bull Roast, our event is on March 18, 2005, Elks Lodge in Catonsville, Monaghan’s is the caterer.  $35/per ticket.  Please email Pat (eikenberg55@comcast.net) or any board member if you would like tickets.  300 is the max amount of tickets.  70 tickets are already accounted for.  Also there is a 50/50 raffle: 1st Place – A tailgate grill, 2nd place – an autographed mini helmet, 3rd place – a Ravens windbreaker.  Tickets will go on sale starting November 1st or sooner.  Mandy will have tickets printed.  As soon as they are done, they will go on sale.  However, advance tickets are accepted if you just let Pat know if you would like a table or just a ticket.  Remember if you order the tickets, you pay for them and are responsible for them.

 

Pat – Christmas Party – The Christmas Party will be held on Friday, December 9th, 7-12pm.  The event will be held at the VFW on VFW Lane in Ellicott City.  Ticket prices are now being decided.  It could be $45 or $50 per ticket.  The Hall has been confirmed, however, we are waiting for the price of the open bar.  Will decide after we receive that information.  Details to follow.  Pat is meeting with Ron Andachter, the person who books the hall, next Monday.  Vote was taken by the Board at the meeting – Motion passed to write a check to the VFW to reserve hall - $300.00.  Mike Duffy was nice enough to stop down and discuss the menu for the Christmas party.  The menu will be the same as last year since everyone was happy about that.  Voted and passed by the Board to keep the menu the same.

 

DIRECTOR OF CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS – Need a new Chairperson.

 

SOCIAL DIRECTOR – Chris Cisna – The camping trip that was to be will be put off until spring.  Need to find campground or another camping spot.  Details to follow.

Discussion was placed on new members and would like feedback on what our new members like to do.  Please email Chris with your input.

Chris would like to hold a “Lunch with Santa” or “Breakfast with Santa” for the children of Ravens Roost #4 members.  Would like members to email Chris who have kids with suggestions and help with putting together this activity.

 

 

Jacksonville Trip deposits – are being accepted tonight - $150.00 – Dates are November 11-14.  Please contact Mandy on any information you may need. 

 

OLD BUSINESS   None

 

NEW BUSINESS

Board has voted on the amount of $1,000.00 to give to the Hurricane Katrina Fund.  Voted and passed by the general membership to give $1,000.00.  Need to contact Ravens so we can mail check to them so they will match that amount.

 

Nominations for officers were asked by the general membership to think about.  Nominations begin next month at the October meeting.  Please volunteer.  Please email Mitch or any Board member if you would like your name on the slate.

 

Ravens Roost #25 – October 28 – Having some event – missed what it was for.  Stoney Creek Democratic Club.  Please call Ken for details.

 

Sister Roost #44 – Fundraiser going on - $10.00/ticket – you could win $5,000.  Only selling 1,000 tickets.  Drawing is next week.  Call or see Mandy for tickets.

 

Frosty had on display a new bowling shirt with our logo and our name on the back.  Very nice looking.  Taking orders at October meeting.  $40/shirt.  See Frosty at next month meeting.
