Charitable Donations – by Ravens Roost #4

 

Ø       $1,000 check presented to Believe in Tomorrow

 

Ø       Donation will go to the purchase of retreat housing for families of terminally ill children

 

Ø       Believe in Tomorrow to open 7 new apartments in Catonsville for bone marrow transplants children and families

 

Ø       Believe in Tomorrow is building a house in Bethany Beach as a vacation home for families with one parent in the military

 

Ø       Believe in Tomorrow building a 3,000 square house in Ashland, NC

 

Membership – Mitch

 

Ø       Total membership:  88

1 new member voted in – Lewis Oppenheimer who formerly worked at Social Security for the past 33 years and travels to support Ravens football

 

Ø       Merchandise – November meeting will bring catalog for ordering Ravens shirts and jackets

 

Ø       Website:  Will post pictures from the Buffalo trip

 

President’s Report – Frosty

 

Ø       Friday’s council meeting missed by Frosty due to Buffalo trip

 

Ø       Council Bull Roast - February 22nd 7pm – 12am at Patapsco Arena will start collecting money at November’s meeting

 

Ø       Special Olympics Polar Bear Plunge raised over $10,000 last year.  Goal this year is $3 million.

 

Ø       Deep Creek Dump is scheduled for February 23rd.  Website is in construction.

 

 Adopt a Highway - Denise

 

Ø       Signing up a maximum of 12 volunteers for October 27th  clean up  8:00am start time

 

 

New Business – Frosty

 

Ø       Bowling Tournament at Normandy Lanes – Sunday December 2nd

o        $25 donation for adults, $15 for children 12 and under

 

Ø       Christmas Party at The Phoenix (upstairs) – Saturday December 8th

o        Time 4:00pm to 9:00pm

o        Will start collecting money at November’s meeting

 

Ravens Report – Scott

 

Ø       Ravens have finished up the cupcake portion of this year’s schedule

 

Ø       4/3 maybe we will be playing 500 ball by the end of the season

 

Ø       Missing key players due to injuries

 

Ø       McGahee averaging 6 yards per run

 

Ø       Brian Billick play calling lost another game for the Ravens

 

Ø       Maybe we will be rivaling Cleveland for last place

 

Road Trip Report - Frosty

 

Ø       All who were on the Buffalo Road trip – 10th trips had a great time.  Roost #4 road trips now officially 3/7.

 

Ø       Miami Road Trip is December 14th.  Money due by the October meeting

 

Ø       50/50 Raffle of $32 won by Frosty
